Final Delay
Hey everyone!
I wanted to let you guys know that I'm pushing the update to Monday (November 24, 07:00 AM Pacific Time). This will be the final delay, promise!
I'll be diving deep into work over the next few days, so I might be slow to answer questions. But I want to address some common concerns I think are coming up:

Q. Why didn't you just decrease character slots from 20 back to 5 like you mentioned earlier?
A. I was planning to, but it turned out to be a lot more complicated than I thought. The game uses some outdated structs that just weren't cutting it anymore. I've cleaned things up, but some dependencies are just broken, because these slots hold crucial IDs for data. Since the project is much bigger than it was a year ago, I had to rethink some design choices, and it's taken longer than expected. I'd do it in a heartbeat if it were as simple as just decreasing the slots back down to 5.
Q. Why didn't you test the game properly before announcing a release date?
A. I've got a couple of people helping me out with testing (and they're being compensated for their time), I can't spend all my time on it. I mainly rely on automated tests, which do a decent job but sometimes miss crucial bugs. The bug I've encountered was flagged by an auto test, though, not by anyone who manually tested it, even with instructions provided. I always make the final test just to make sure the game doesn't crash, and during that test this bug was discovered.
Q. Why say 24-48 hours instead of just delaying it until Monday right from the start?
A. I really thought I could sort out the problems quickly. I know it seems like I'm just dragging this whole thing, but I've been putting in a lot of effort on this update, and this one is crucial for the game's future. I was really devastated when the bug popped up, but thought I could pull it off within 48 hours. However, I'm 100% confident I can fix everything by Monday, and it'll be well-tested.
Q. What if you don't release it on Monday? How can we trust you?
A. Fair question. Do not trust me, just check back on Monday. All I can do now is learn from it and keep my head down to focus on work.

Thanks for being so understanding. I totally get the frustration, I'm feeling it too! For those who are really mad at me, I understand where you're coming from. It's not a month-long delay, just a few extra days, which are crucial. I take full responsibility for this, it's on me, not the testers. I'd rather delay an update than rush something that's not ready. But, I swear on my dog's grave (RIP A.) I will never delay an update in the future.
I sincerely apologize for this second delay and really appreciate your patience as I work to get this update out, tested, and ready. Your support means the world to me, and I promise I won't let you down this time! 🙏

Its absolutely cool, no pressures whatsoever.
But maybe, just a suggestion, for future delays release the buggy version for a brief time just so we, users, can test it out on our own risk. Well unless there is a major bug. Then people will have an idea of how the update is gonna be like.

Hey, don't push yourself into hard timelines again. Just say it needs a few days to get the last few things done. And please don’t swear to never delay an update again, this may lead to mental stress and health. Just do your thing you like the most and keep your followers updated with devlogs. A huge thank you to the author for his work and for what he does – it’s truly important in itself, but these delays are simply too much pressure because of deadlines that always seem so close to release, only to be delayed again. Anyway, I wish you all peace; I’m not expecting anything anymore either. If this update comes out on Monday, it will be great and wonderful that it’s finally out, even though it’s been delayed probably four times already, but it’s still coming out on Monday. If that doesn’t happen, I simply won’t even think about playing it because there are new deadlines. Maybe I’ll play it next year, maybe not. My nerves will never recover from all the anticipation... In any case, whatever happens, the game is really interesting in its own way, but all these delays are, in short, just too much.
As long as you give us a discount on the game, we'll be at peace hehe
I'm not a developer, but my work is quite close to research and development, including programming, so I understand your situation. Delaying deadlines and making adjustments is a completely normal development process; you don't need to beat yourself up over delays and changes.
Please try to remind yourself that you're always making your creation better, even if it means making mistakes, so your decision will always be the right one. No one in their right mind would dare accuse you of shifting the estimated update dates.
After all, even AAA developers manage to push back releases and updates by months and years.

I'm already overdosed on delays maybe now you'll at least release it as is. After all, people know that such a bug exists and under what conditions it appears let them use the 20-slot option at their own risk.
I'm sure people will be able to enjoy the update without this option TEMPORARILY
Just suggestion But I hope you'll listen because delaying the update for so long because of one bug seems strange.
The dev has given us an awesome game, amazing game even when you compare it to other games in this niche, and at such an incredibly low price point / updates and evolves this game while taking direct feedback from us / and has been upfront about issues along the way.
Your "overdosed on delays" mindset is a YOU problem, go do something else for a few days, the dev obviously is a considerate person from how they have handled this situation and doesnt deserve any comments that would make them feel even more stressed over this situation.
